[Currently Playing:] Ja Rule-Your Body I was asked by a good friend last week why my job was so chill? I turned to her and just kind of gave her this, are you serious look. Nonetheless, that comment motivated me to right this blog. Everyone has job stress, on all levels of difficulty. Work is work. One should not think that their stress takes precedence over someone else's stress. What it comes down to is: "Am I doing a good job and if you know you are not, what can I do to help better myself?" Yes, I know its easier said than done. I too have things on my mind that I wish my manager would just magically forget! LOL. But reality doesn't work that way. I recently had some hardships at work where my mistake was exploited to my partner. Things were bad, but in times like these, you need to remember to stay calm because your manager or boss is probably observing how you deal with problems as well. In the end, I showed my partner that I man'd up to my mistake and was willing to do what it took to correct it. And always smile, no matter how bad it is! My Dad gave me a great quote during this time (I have no idea where he got it cuz I know he didn't make it up. But it seemed so appropriate at the time): "Beginning today, I will take a moment to step off the beaten path to reveal the mysteries I encounter. I will face challenges with courage and determination. I will overcome what barriers there may be which hinder my quest for growth and self-improvement." I'll leave you all with question: What work stress do you have and how will you conquer it? |
